Common framework standard for European languages

It is a document published by the Council of Europe in 2001 describing the level of foreign languages at different levels. It is primarily a European standard, but it is used as a language standard in most countries around the world and as a standard for school entrance requirements at all levels.

The European standard divides practical language ability into six levels :A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2
